Smiling Maria Shriver Enjoys Lunch Date With Bono

Maria Shriver might have found some comfort from close friend Bono after news broke that her estranged husband Arnold Schwarzenegger has fathered a child with their longtime housekeeper. On Thursday, May 26, the 55-year-old went on a lunch date with the U2 frontman at The Ivy restaurant in Santa Monica, California.

The former first lady of California seemed to be in fine spirits after the lunch considering that she sported a smile on her face when leaving the restaurant. She was also spotted getting a warm hug and a kiss from the 51-year-old musician. It is unclear what brought the two together for the long lunch though.

Maria and Arnold announced they are separating after 25 years of marriage in early May. Days later, Arnold came out with a confession that he fathered a child with a household staffer who recently retired after 20 years of service. Words were swirling that the actor confessed his infidelity after Maria confronted Mildred.

In her statement released in response to Arnold's love child revelation, the daughter of Sargent Shriver and Eunice Kennedy said, "This is a painful and heartbreaking time. As a mother, my concern is for the children. I ask for compassion, respect and privacy as my children and I try to rebuild our lives and heal. I will have no further comment."
