GHOST RIDER: SPIRIT OF VENGEANCE Rolls into Comic-Con

Yesterday, we reported that The Amazing Spider-Man would be swinging into the 2011 San Diego Comic-Con.  Today, directors Neveldine/Taylor (Crank) have tweeted that their new film,Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance will also be rolling into this year’s con. Of course, Spider-Man has built up tons of good will over the past decade and has always been a beloved character.  Ghost Rider is a biker tattoo that became comic book character who then got a crummy movie.  Neveldine/Taylor will have to convince a skeptical audience that even though the sequel still stars Nicolas Cage, this is a different beast than the last Ghost Rider.  The duo also tweeted:
not sure where the last one came from, but this GR comes from nightmares.
And I’m not sure what that means, but I’m eager to see a film that wants to be as different from the last Ghost Rider as possible.  The 2011 San Diego Comic-Con runs from July 21 – 24th.  Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance opens February 17, 2012.
